Connect - we want to connect with people on the outskirts, people that feel thrown away. People that need to hear the gospel. We want to connect by rushing into broken places and sharing the gospel. We do this by various events. But what happens when you have people giving their life to Jesus and the next day you're not there?
This is why The Dicipleship Movement is different from your average local outreach. Because we not only want to move in power and connect one time, but stay and disciple the people.
We want to establish ourselves and bring community and the welcome of Jesus to people. We want to incuabte them, develop them, so they can follow after Jesus. We want to sit with these people that say yes and show them how to pray, read God's word, and renew their mind. We want to point them back to a local church. Which means we need the local church. We want to disciple the people.
We recently started a small group at one of the largest homesless shelters in Albany. It's called Simple and Sweet - they meet every Friday. And during this time we are incubating the moms. We are getting them ready, preparing them, showing them what it means to follow after Jesus and renew their mind. It's simple conversation covered with scripture and something sweet. Each week they make something sweet to bring back to their rooms to share.
We want to grow and establish discipleship groups across Albany County.

But in order for this to work. In order for us to continue connecting, incubating, and growing we need people to say yes. We need people who are passionate about crafting, fishing, building, baking, to partner with us to create discipleship groups. To create simple opporunities to share the gospel.
Connect with us. Take part in this movement. Do you have a passion or a hobby? We can help you be actionable in discipling others.
